Breaking ground on the Capital Project

Orygen is pleased to announce that we have officially started construction on our Capital Project! This first milestone was celebrated with a sod turn in the company of the Minister for Mental Health, the Hon Martin Foley MP, alongside key guests from various organisations, and members of the Orygen board on the Wednesday, 13 September 2017.

We are incredibly grateful for the generous contributions from our funders for investing in youth mental health which will transform the way we work further enable us to achieve our mission to help our young people to get well and stay well. Many thanks to the Victorian Government, The Colonial Foundation, The University of Melbourne and the Ian Potter Foundation and the Australian Government for making our dream a reality and for supporting us as we embark on a new chapter of Orygen’s history.

Once complete the long awaited redevelopment will transform the way we work and house our clinical, research, policy and education and training services under one roof. This new world-class facility will support us to integrate our innovative clinical care and translational research activities.

Construction of the new facility is due for completion in October 2018. For more information on the Capital Project and to watch a live stream see here: www.orygen.org.au/capitalproject
