John Moran is the Chief Operating Officer at Orygen, having worked in the organisation since it was established in 2002. John is also an Honorary Senior Fellow in the Centre for Youth Mental Health, The University of Melbourne.
John’s primary responsibility is the development and operational performance of Orygen. His career highlights include leading the initial establishment team for headspace, and being a member of the Foundation Executive Committee that led the implementation of headspace between 2006 and 2009.
Before coming to Orygen, John worked in the area of youth health for 25 years. During that time he has developed a broad knowledge of health and support service systems for young people through the implementation and evaluation of projects conducted with mental health services, drug treatment services, juvenile justice, child protection, primary care and community health services.
He has served on Boards in the Community Health sector and contributed to a range of key committees and initiatives in the areas of youth health and HIV/AIDS.
