Professor Marilys Guillemin is Associate Dean Learning and Teaching in the Faculty of Medicine Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS), at the University of Melbourne. In this role, she is responsible for learning and teaching strategy and its implementation in the Faculty. Marilys is a sociologist of health and illness, and Professor in the Centre for Health Equity, School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne.
She has conducted research and published widely in the areas of sociology of health, illness and technology, innovative research methodologies, research practice, narrative ethics, and ethical practice in research and in healthcare. Marilys is also the Project Lead for the University of Melbourne pilot of the SAGE (Science in Australia Gender Equity) Athena SWAN initiative.
