Amelia is 19 years old and currently attends Euroa Secondary College, and is completing her Year 12 VCE. In 2018, she hopes to begin an Arts degree at Melbourne University and after this, she hopes to complete a Master in Law.
Amelia is passionate about advocating for youth mental health, having started her own advocacy group in her local community which seeks to promote access to mental health services and reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues. This passion is driven in part by her lived experience of mental ill-health, and her desire to improve the experiences of other young people suffering from mental health issues.
She has been recognised for her efforts by being named as the Young Citizen of the Year in her hometown for 2016. In her tenure at the Youth Advisory Council, she seeks to advocate for the interests of young people with mental ill-health and assist in advancing the quality of their experiences. Amelia is interested in politics and literature, and hopes to one day enter politics and make a positive difference in the world.
