Jake was born in America, but now lives in Newcastle, Australia where he is currently studying Mental Health at university. When he is not studying, Jake can be found participating as a consumer advocate in group meetings and providing guidance for reforms and input as a person of the community.
In the future, Jake hopes to become a peer worker or counselor, advocating for young people with a lived experience of mental ill-health and need support. His passion lies in helping young LGBTQI people and particularly advocating and supporting the transgender community.
Jake is very excited to be a part of the Live it, Speak it program and wants to contribute to the education and support of diversity in society and mental health services to support them.
He also wants to help erase stigma on mental ill-health and normalise seeking support.
