Jess lives just outside Perth in Western Australia - although she is originally from Tasmania and has also been lucky enough to live in New South Wales and England. She is about to complete her undergraduate in psychology at university with plans to do honours and masters in the next few years. Jess hopes to qualify as a clinical psychologist, with a focus on youth and prevention.
Inspired by the difficulties she faced in her own lived experience, Jess's passion for raising awareness around mental health and mental illness has seen her volunteer with ReachOut, Headspace, the Health Promotion Unit and Lived Experience project at University of Western Australia, Zero to Hero and now Orygen. She also works part-time as a youth consultant for Wanslea, a not-for-profit organisation that delivers family and child orientated services - in their mental health team, and has a side job bartending at the local university tavern.
Any free time Jess has is dedicated to getting creative and sourcing great vintage finds, but she can't go past a good Sunday brunch and Netflix session.
