Steph from Melbourne is passionate about mental health - particularly early intervention, combating stigma and working with various healthcare organisations to promote positive mental health and overall wellbeing. She is also excited to share her personal story as a member of the ‘Live It, Speak It’ program and hopes her lived experience with a mental illness can help others realise how much they can achieve.
Currently Steph volunteers at Orygen, The Black Dog Institute and ReachOut and was previously on the Youth Advisory Group for headspace Sunshine and Glenroy. She is also President of the Nursing Society at Victoria University where she has worked to help those less fortunate in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
Steph will soon be starting her career as a psychiatric nurse at North Western Mental Health and aims to work with Orygen to ensure that young people and their families are supported with all aspects of their mental health.
