Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation service

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation service

What is Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation?

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive technique that stimulates brain tissue to treat a number of conditions, including depression.

Studies have shown that rTMS can be effective in treating a person’s symptoms of depression when other treatments, such as medication, have not worked for them.

rTMS is different from electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), formerly known as electroshock therapy. rTMs is considered less invasive than ECT and has fewer side effects.

rTMS is safe, can reduce symptoms of depression and is less invasive than ECT.

Amelia

TMS has really helped me, and I would recommend others try it if they haven't responded to other forms of treatment. It's a non-invasive treatment that I am so glad I had the opportunity to receive.

Amelia, TMS recipient
