Billi McCarthy-Price is a Policy Analyst at Orygen, the National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health. In her current role at Orygen, Billi develops content for policy papers, drafts submissions and advice and advocates for quality youth-specific mental health care for young people across Australia.
Billi completed combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees at the University of Western Australia and Sciences Po Grenoble. While studying, Billi volunteered at a number of youth-focused organisations, including the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME), Teach Learn Grow and Uni Camp for Kids.
Upon graduation, Billi participated in the Department of Defence Graduate Development Program and went on to work in Military Strategy Branch.
After relocating to Melbourne, Billi was employed at Victoria Police, where she delivered communications and health promotion activities as part of the implementation of the 2016 Mental Health Review. Billi also leads a youth-focused not-for-profit, Global Voices, in the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Originally from Western Australia, Billi is passionate about providing young people in rural and remote areas with better access, availability and acceptability of mental health services.
