Alexandra Pollitt is Director of Research at the Policy Institute, King’s College London. She works on a wide range of topics, but her main focus areas are science policy and health, in particular mental health.

Alex's work in recent years includes a series of studies estimating the economic returns of biomedical research, a study mapping the global mental health research funding landscape and policy-focused work on the review of the UK's Mental Health Act.

Alex has taught research methods, policy engagement, communications and impact assessment, and has supported research funders internationally in the development of impact evaluation frameworks and tools. She previously worked in developmental psychiatry research at the University of Cambridge, and before joining King’s, spent six years working in policy research and analysis at RAND Europe. She has also worked in impact evaluation for an international NGO.
