Orygen provides refunds or exchanges for resources that have a problem or fault.

Workshops and Events

Orygen provides full refunds or fully equivalent exchanges to participants who register and pay for workshops or events which are cancelled by Orygen due to lack of demand or exceptional circumstances.

Orygen provides refunds on the following basis to participants who register and pay for workshops or events and who then notify their cancellation to Orygen in writing:

  • for cancellations notified to Orygen in writing 28 days or more before the date of the workshop or event, a 10% administration charge will be deducted and the remaining fees refunded,

  • for cancellations notified to Orygen in writing less than 28 days but more than 7 days before the date of the workshop or event, 50% of fees paid to Orygen will be refunded,

  • for cancellations notified to Orygen in writing 7 days or less before the date of the workshop or event, no refund will be made.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE IN YOUTH PsyCHIATRY

Orygen provides full refunds to students who withdraw from the course before the published census date for that year. After the census date, students are not eligible for a refund. Census dates can vary each year. Students can check the census date for their course in the Course Outline, in the Key Dates section of the Learning Management System, or by contacting the Course Coordinator.

To withdraw from the course and apply for a refund, please contact the Course Coordinator.

How to Apply for a Refund

Refund decisions will be notified to applicants within 10 working days of receipt of the application for refund.  Refunds may only be paid to the refund applicant and may not be transferred to third parties.

How to Appeal a Refund Decision

Appeals to refund decisions you consider to be in error on the basis of the above provisions should be referred in writing to the Director, Finance at the email address provided below.

Orygen may exercise discretion to consider applications which do not comply with the above provisions but for which extraordinary circumstances may exist. Application for a refund in extraordinary circumstances must be made in writing and sent to the Director, Research and Translation at the email address provided below. Proof of payment of the fees (e.g. an official receipt) and validation of the reasons for applying for a refund will be required.  Appeals to refund decisions made by the Director, Research and Translation, may be directed to the Chief Operating Officer at the email address provided below should this be necessary.

This statement does not remove your right to take further action under Australia’s consumer protection laws.
