The Research division is focused on establishing and coordinating Australia’s leading youth mental health research program.
We do this by identifying and driving high impact research initiatives into the areas of disengaged and vulnerable young people, addiction and eating disorders. These areas are in addition to existing research into early psychosis, personality disorders, functional recovery and neurobiology.
Our work embraces both research and clinical trials in a bid to find better ways to prevent and/or reduce the impact of mental disorders for young people.
We have major collaborative partnerships with other research centres and clinical-research organisations in Australia and around the world. These partnerships contribute to a broader understanding of appropriate treatments and services for young people at different stages of mental ill-health.
The division is made up of world leaders in youth mental health as well as early and mid-career researchers and postgraduates.
