A key strategic objective of Orygen in its role as The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health is to partner with young people to ensure that they remain at the forefront of everything we do.

We recognise that young people, families, and the community are key partners in our work to improve young people’s mental health. As a commitment to this, Orygen has developed a three-year Youth Engagement and Participation Strategy to promote youth engagement and participation across the organisation.

Orygen Intern Program

As a part of this strategy we are inviting applications from enthusiastic young people 25 years and under to participate in a 12 week Intern Program (2 days per week) in either the Policy team or Media & Communications team at Orygen.

Please note: you must be 25 years or under for the duration of the program (between March – June 2017).

Interns will be paid the national adult minimum wage plus loading in line with Fair Work Australia guidelines.

Policy Intern

Position summary

The Policy Intern position is an exciting opportunity for a young person aged 25 years or younger to gain experience and exposure to the world’s leading youth mental health research and knowledge translation organisation, Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health.

The position involves a 12 week placement (2 days a week) commencing in March 2017. The role will be located within the Policy team, working alongside researchers, media and communications advisers, clinical specialists and workforce trainers across the organisation.

Media & Communications Intern

Position summary

The Media and Communications Intern position is an exciting opportunity for a young person aged 25 years or younger to gain experience and exposure to the world’s leading youth mental health research and knowledge translation organisation, Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health.

The position involves a 12 week placement (2 days a week) commencing in March 2017. The role will be located within the Media and Communications team working alongside researchers, policy advisors, clinical specialists and workforce trainers across the organisation.
