Mark (he/him) is a Chinese-Australian ‘third culture kid’ based in Melbourne’s north west. He works in the Office for Youth at the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing’s Office for Youth. Mark is also in the early stages of his PhD in Criminology, focusing on how young people charged with offences experience courtrooms in Victoria.

Mark is passionate about critical engagement with young people and youth participation in research. Outside of work and study, he explores this passion as a Youth Reference Group member in the Monash University Centre for Youth Policy and Education Practice and as a participant in the Centre for Multicultural Youth’s Explore research program.

Mark is also passionate about telling the stories of young people like himself and has previously been a peer facilitator at the Youth Affairs Council Victoria and a freelance writer and podcaster.

Mark is excited to join Orygen’s Youth Advisory Committee to learn more about the mental health sector and how it works and advocates for young people across Australia.
