On the HORYZON: Moderated online social therapy for long-term recovery in first episode psychosis

This was the first study testing an online intervention (HORYZONS) and its capacity to promote recovery in early psychosis. Results from the one-month pilot study found the HORYZONS intervention to be feasible, engaging and safe, and that it may augment social connectedness and empowerment in first episode psychosis. Analysis also revealed a significant reduction in depressive symptoms at follow up.

Moderated Online Social Therapy for Recovery From Early Psychosis

This study described the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in the treatment of depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions. It introduced a new model for providing online interventions for first-episode psychosis called Moderated Online Social Therapy (MOST). The model was developed by a multi-disciplinary team of clinical psychologists, a computer programmer, a health informatics expert, a web designer, a writer and a graphic designer.
