Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Your application needs to be in English, and all Fellowship material will only be available in English. Fellows are expected to contribute in English, both verbally and in writing.

Fellowship activities include a combination of educational modules and individual or group-based work. Fellows will also participate in group-based peer and expert mentoring. Click here for more information about the program content.

The Fellowship is a six-month program. Fellows will need to consistently commit to an online session of 90 – 120 minutes, with an overall commitment of approximately eight to 10 hours per month to Fellowship activities.

Given time zone differences in the region, weekly sessions will be planned to best suit Fellows and will generally be held mid-evening (AEDT time).

Fellows will receive a small honorarium to support any costs associated with undertaking the Fellowship.

You will be required to work on your advocacy project throughout the Fellowship outside of the online sessions, especially during the project planning month (month 4).

We may ask you to do some preparatory or follow-up work for a session occasionally, such as reading an article or watching a video. However, we understand that Fellows have personal and professional commitments, and we will aim to keep additional work to a minimum.

You will also complete mentoring with peers and experts and work collaboratively with your Fellowship cohort to contribute to a global piece of advocacy.

In addition to the online components of the Fellowship, we will hold a four-day in-person forum in an ASEAN country. The forum will be held from a Friday to a Monday in May/June 2026.  To accommodate travel arrangements, you will need to be able to commit to up to six-days with the Orygen Global team and fellowship colleagues. Attendance at the forum is fully funded by Orygen Global.

You are required to make every effort to attend all the education module sessions. An attendance rate of 80 per cent is necessary to successfully complete the Fellowship. However, we understand that the Fellowship requires a significant and extended time commitment and that both personal and professional circumstances may occasionally prevent you from joining sessions. These circumstances will be addressed on a case-by-case basis as the need arises.

You will need access to a computer with a camera and a microphone, and a reliable internet connection to fully participate in the program. If you face technical barriers, we strongly encourage you to apply, and if successful, please let us know what kind of support you might need, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

We are committed to making the program accessible to young people with disabilities. We encourage applicants with disabilities to apply and let us know what kind of support you would need to fully participate in the program.

If you receive an interview and require accommodations for your disability, please let us know what kind of support you might need so we can best to accommodate your needs. If you are successful in being offered the Fellowship, our team will meet with you to discuss how best we can support you to fully engage in the Fellowship and make any required accommodations.
