Passionate about youth voice, inclusivity, and disability rights, Caitlin (she/her) is a 19-year-old student and advocate living between Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country (Canberra) for her studies at the Australian National University, and Tamworth, on the lands of the Gomeroi People.

As a young person with disability and mental-ill health, she brings her lived experience and knowledge of policy, governance, and intersectionality to her roles with non-government organisations such as Children and Young People with Disability Australia, Project Rockit, state and federal government advisory positions, and as a consultant for various projects that align with her expertise.

She holds several leadership positions across the intersection of youth and disability, challenging narratives of ‘low expectation’ to embed equity and accessibility within our society. She also speaks publicly on disability, challenging socio-cultural norms, youth leadership, intergenerational inequity, and authentic co-design, with a focus on empowering young people to drive social change.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts/Law, Caitlin aspires to use her academic background and advocacy work to make a positive impact in her community and beyond. She is passionate about fostering inclusive spaces and creating equitable opportunities for young people and people with intersecting lived experience.

Her experience of anxiety, health-anxiety, and family-related mental-ill experience has given her unique perspective into the intersections between disability and mental health. She is excited to bring this lens, alongside her other lived experience, to the Youth Advisory Council.
