Vocational services

Vocational services at Orygen are delivered using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.  IPS is an employment and education support program co-located with mental health services. IPS is a free program that provides individualised career, employment and educational support alongside the support you receive from your mental health team.

Young people in IPS programs can access a variety of supports including career planning advice, support to navigate community and Centrelink services and support to engage in education or employment.  Examples of support may include resume and cover letter preparation, training for job interviews or introducing you to employers and training providers matched to your career goals. IPS workers continue to provide support once you’ve found work or study.

IPS is currently available at Orygen’s Parkville and Sunshine services and at headspace centres in Sunshine, Melton and Werribee.

If you would like to connect with an Orygen IPS worker, please contact Sandra Petreski, Employment and Education Program Manager at Orygen on 0428 248 476 or ask your mental health clinician for a referral.
