Orygen welcomes New Taipei City Government following launch of Taiwanese #chatsafe guidelines

Orygen has welcomed a visit from New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-Ih and a delegation of senior government officials to exchange insights about shared work in youth mental health and suicide prevention. 

It follows the 2025 launch of the Taiwanese version of Orygen's #chatsafe guidelines, a project funded by the New Taipei City Government.

Head of Orygen Global, Craig Hodges said the visit from Mayor Hou Yu-ih and senior officials allowed for a strengthening of the foundation between Orygen and the New Taipei City Government.

“The Taiwanese version of #chatsafe has been very well received locally,” Hodges said.

“This visit from the New Taipei City delegation allowed us to share Orygen’s internationally renowned work first-hand, and provided the opportunity to share insights in youth mental health research, policy and practice.”

The tour included presentations focused on Orygen’s world-leading suicide prevention research, youth and family involvement research, policy and strategy, lived experience and clinical operations.

The delegation also visited the  Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service's thoughtfully designed YPARC facility.
