Bormey is a senior student from Cambodia majoring in International Relations at the Institute for International Studies and Public Policy. Her academic journey has enabled her to explore global issues with a particular focus on humanitarian challenges and the role of international co-operation in addressing them.

Bormey enjoys connecting with people and engaging in diverse professional experiences. Most recently she served as a human resources intern at a youth-led organisation where she worked closely with young people and gained valuable insights into their aspirations and struggles. In this role she learned the importance of creating open communication spaces that allow teams to share their challenges.

This experience sparked her passion for mental health and wellbeing as she observed how family dynamics, academic stress and burnout are often under-addressed in both local and global contexts.

Bormey believes that creating supportive spaces for youth is essential to fostering resilience, leadership and confidence. Through the Fellowship, she is eager to learn from inspiring peers, exchange perspectives and contribute to meaningful conversations on advocacy, mental health and global engagement.
