Julian Maiolo 

Julian Maiolo is the principal of Mayfield Advisory, a healthcare management consulting firm. He has more than 30 years of experience as an industry executive leader and senior adviser to the Australian health sector. His experience in the industry extends across the strategic, operational and technical domains of health care management. Julian has provided advisory and commercial advice to various Australian public and private health service providers, as well as state and federal governments across Australia and overseas. 

Before his role at Mayfield Advisory, Julian held senior leadership and partner roles within Deloitte’s health care practice, Paxton Partners and KPMG’s health and human services team. In industry, his senior executive roles at Melbourne Health included chief financial officer, executive director of operational management, and executive director of corporate and clinical support services. 

Julian is a Certified Practising Accountant and Chartered Accountant. He holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Master of Business Administration. Julian is also a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Future Focus Group alumni of the Committee for Melbourne. He is also on the board of the Butterfly Foundation and Hearts4Heart.org. 

Julian loves spending time as an attempted hobby farmer, enjoys the wonders of travel, is an avid listener and attendee of electronic music concerts, and an unabashed follower of the Carlton Football Club. He tries his best to harmonise it into his family life with his wonderful wife, four children and three mischievous pups.
