Youth Advisory Council 2025

Driven by his experience as a refugee from Sri Lanka, Adriel (he/him) is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment and social justice.

Currently a medical student living in Naarm (Melbourne), he actively works as a peer facilitator at the Centre for Multicultural Youth and Youth Affairs Council Victoria, where he provides training to young people and youth sector workers, including training on culturally responsive practice.
 
Adriel's commitment extends strongly into mental health, where he seeks to dismantle cultural stigma, promote culturally responsive care, and advocate for preventative approaches.

He is excited to contribute to the Youth Advisory Council by ensuring the voices of marginalised communities are heard and empowered.

When he's not engaged in his studies or advocacy work with various organisations, Adriel enjoys reading, finding solace in fresh air, and unwinding with music.
