Youth Advisory Council 2025

Akif (he/him) is from Western Sydney on Dharug land and loves all things health, especially the topics that are most stigmatised.

He is passionate about mental health, sexual health and harm reduction, and finding ways to have conversations around these topics, that are sensitive, inclusive and culturally safe.

In his professional work, he finds that he is drawn towards supporting people understand the nuances of these stigmatised conversations, especially for the most marginalised people who need that support the most.

Outside of this, he loves loud music and sports. He has been to many concerts and raves and feels they are perfect for healing the soul. He also loves basketball and Oztag, and uses these activities as ways to keep in touch with his friends in their busy lives.
