Jacinta (she/her) is a proud Samoan-Australian woman who currently resides on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung, in Naarm. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Youth Work at Victoria University, whilst also working as a Multicultural Pasifika Youth Worker with the Centre for Multicultural Youth.

Her passion for mental health advocacy is deeply rooted in her lived experience navigating mental health challenges including borderline personality disorder and depression. Through her journey, Jacinta found it difficult to access support that felt culturally safe and responsive, which inspired her to speak up and help drive change.

She is especially committed to improving accessibility to mental health supports for young people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, with a focus on uplifting voices within her own Pasifika communities. Jacinta looks forward to working with like-minded individuals to create change and promote accessibility for young people living with mental ill health, regardless of background.
