Peta (she/her) is a passionate youth advocate from Yamaji country in rural Western Australia. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Western Australia, with a strong interest in policy, legislation, and creating more equitable outcomes for young people.

She has represented over 300,000 public school students as a member of the inaugural WA Student Council, advocating directly to the Minister and Department of Education. Peta has also been a two-term Youth Parliamentarian and was elected Youth Leader of the Opposition in 2024.

Her broader advocacy includes advisory roles with the WA Commissioner for Children and Young People’s Youth Steering Group, YACWA’s Family and Intimate Partner Violence Prevention Project, and Crisis to Calm - a youth mental health intervention co-designed with Curtin University, aimed at fostering resilience, support, and connection in disaster recovery.

As a member of Orygen’s Youth Advisory Council, Peta is driven to ensure that all young people — especially those from regional and remote areas — are included in shaping inclusive, accessible, and responsive mental health services.
