    Report on the Second Australian Child and Adolescent Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing

    Orygen welcomes the release of the Report on the Second Australian Child and Adolescent Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing. The survey results confirm that mental ill-health in young people needs to addressed as a major public health priority, and although significant recent gains have been made in improving access to care for young people with mental ill-health, unacceptably high numbers of young people still do not receive the support that they need.

    USA and Australia announce landmark youth mental health research partnership

    The world’s largest mental health research organisation, The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in the United States, has announced that it will provide Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health $6.6 million (USD) to work in partnership on a ground-breaking new research study into treatment strategies for young people at risk of developing a serious mental illness.

    Dr Simon Rice awarded 2015 SMHR Early Career Researcher Fellowship

    Dr Simon Rice, Research Fellow at Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health have been awarded an Early Career Researcher Fellowship from the Society for Mental Health Research. This round of funding was made possible by donations to the ABC Mental As campaign in 2014.
